Notes
33.
William Ledingham was the eldest son, and he served his apprenticeship as
a printer in the old "Herald" Printing Office, now one of the "landmarks"
of the past. His apprenticeship period was hardly finished when he
became foreman printer in that historic printing office. After several
years spent in that employment he left and went for a short time to
London, but returned to Aberdeen, and from there to Forres as master
printer and manager of the Forres "Gazette" and remained in that position
for many years, turning out work that was a credit to himself, and to the
firm that he represented. He is now retired and lives in Aberdeen,
residing with his daughter - (Mrs Abbot), his wife, a kind amiable lady
and very intelligent having died in the year 1904.
34.
His son George died young; he was of a fine gentle nature, a likeable
young man. His other son Alexander is a photographer in
Granton-on-Spey. He served his country during the Great War and returned
safe and well. He is a progressive, amiable man, and a worthy descendant
of the Ledingham family.
