Notes
Author of "The Chronicles of a Historic Aberdeen Family and its Branches"
1923
45.
A sketch of William and George and Jeannie will follow, but the writer,
ALEXANDER, is left for some other scribe to record at a future date.
49.
The reader will please note that these Chronicles are all written from
memory, and in another generation would have been lost to future
generations of the family; as all letters and links of the history of the
Ledinghams have been lost or destroyed, and all that now remains to be
done is to record them, as best we may, from memory.
50.
. . . (It must be borne in mind that some events and names will be
omitted, but that must be overlooked, for no offence is meant, and
everything is recorded with the greatest respect to the parties mentioned
in the Chronicles).
72.
These Annals may not please everybody - they are likely to cross the seas
to other lands - but we can only do our best, and must be brief in our
records.
