KEITH, Elizabeth

His wife, who died when a young woman, was a lady of character and
ability, with a personality all her own. She was a Miss Keith, and, came
of the historical family of the Keiths, a branch of the ancient stock
that played such an important part in the history of Scotland, and
finally lost their lands and titles through their loyalty to the House of
Stuart in 1745. It was Earl Marischal Keith that founded the Marischal
College in Aberdeen, now a great seat of learning with its students
spread all over the world.
