CUTTING, William H., The Rev'd

William was educated at Drax Grammar School and was drawn to teaching.
There is no mention of any specific teacher training. At first he worked in Selby, Ripponden and Great Grimsby.

He was then, for nine years, a master at the School for the sons of Congregational Ministers, first at Lewisham and then at Caterham, Surrey, when the school moved there.

He left to study at Cheshunt College, Cambridge, and was ordained as Pastor of the Queen's Walk Congregational Church in Nottingham.

On December 1st, 1891, aged 35, he married Jane Eliza Page, from the Church of England.

In 1893 he was appointed by the London Missionary Society (LMS) to work in Higher Education in Banares, United Provinces of Agra and Oodh India. He sailed with his wife from England on November 10, 1893. They returned to England in December 1921 after much work and many illnesses.
